Aries on Aries
I'm neither an Aries nor the partner of one, but I ran across a funny astrological reference in a book of essays by a gay Aries man with an Aries lover (yikes!). He says a typical exchange in an Aries-on-Aries fight is: "Shut up!" "No, you shut up!" -- Sarah

That stuff is fun to make up and in my experience same-sign relationships range from "no one else would have them to," "Wow, there’s a different kind of nuts." Seriously, though, fire plus fire in a relationship can be enormously successful if both parties are enthusiastic about the other person’s manias. If both of the fire signs are the kind that need to keep starting, vs. finishing a project, there can be issues. I’ve known lots of Leo women who seem to be friends exclusively with Leo women AND Virgo who prefer Leo to Virgo. Sometimes same-sign relationships cancel themselves out. Often, people are close to people who have same sign as their ascendan, especially if ascendant is distinctively different from sun sign. With two Aries the issue turns in "who’s listening?"

Wow, two entries in a week! Here’s a quickie: Talk to me about Aries and same-sex relationships. If you’re an Aries with a lover of your gender, or another sign with an Aries lover. What are the advantages of this chemistry – disadvantages. Where are you on the same page? Have there been times when communication goes to heck in a handbasket? I want to know!

Just to review: your moon sign is the sign the moon was in when you were born (this changes every 2.5 days or so). Your sun sign is the sign the sun was in when you were born (born today, you’re Gemini). Your moon sign shows your emotional temperament, your relationship with your mother, your relationship with femininity, feminine expectations, attitude towards the home and security issues. Your sun sign is more about identity. How they work together is always interested, and someone who identifies themselves as a "double" sign usually means sun and moon together (or sun and ascendant). And if you have your moon AND sun in the same sign it means the moon was new when you were born. Those folks, just judging from my client base and personal experience, are the ones who are always tentatively optimistic. Don’t forget, I’m yacking on WTAG AM, this Friday morning.

I meant to write something before I went to Nebraska with my cousin Susan who’s written a book about some amazing folks living in Boyd County, Nebraska (google it) who fought off a nuke waste dump. For about 18 years. She’s chronicled a battle only slightly less lengthy, exhausting and detailed as that in the Iliad and since I’ve been reading/schmoozing/editing on it, it was time to visit. What an amazing state! I want to move – but only if I can spend the week in Lincoln and the weekends in Spencer. Went to Ashfall Dinosaur Park and would have been happy visiting other places. Her friend, Mark Vasina is president of Nebraskans for Peace and their next big project is seeing what can be done about the problems caused by the four liquor stores in White Clay, NB (population 14) that service the 30,000 Indians living a mile away at Pine Ridge, South Dakota. Nebraska, like Missouri is a weird combination of several places. It’s the midwest AND the wild west complete with depopulated towns. On our last day there I drove 150 miles and made ONE right turn in all that time. Amazing nice people, amazing piles of fossils from all pertinent eras but my favorite for last several years has been early to mid Cenozoic because the mammalian diversity got completely crazy. Anyway, am back, and still getting onto eastern time zone again. Anyone hear me on WTAG on Friday morning?
