The Cambridge Licensing Commission voted unanimously last night "to approve owner Donald Holland’s application for a change of location from 21 Brookline St., where ManRay first opened as a gay club... to 541 Massachusetts Ave.

Those looking forward to the ManRay reunion February 1 at Brighton Music Hall have a new reason to celebrate: Cambridge Day reported last night that the legendary Cambridge nightclub could be resurrected at the vacant Blockbuster lot at 541 Massachusetts Avenue.

ManRay owner Don Holland recently met with the Cambridge Licensing Commission and detailed plans to eventually re-open the dance club with a concert hall set-up, a VIP area, and best of all, a restaurant

After several weeks of delays, postponements, and re-routed shows, Cambridge’s THE SINCLAIR will officially open for business tonight. The first live performance at the new 525-capacity Harvard Square live music venue, which has postponed its opening since late-October due to “unexpected construction delays,” will feature Concrete Blonde (Jim Bianco opening), taking an anticipated performance of the Los Angeles modern rock’ band’s 1990 cult-classic “Bloodletting” to a whole new level.

The RSVP list for tonight's Boston Music Awards Maven's Choice party at Redstar is jam-effin'-packed. Bowery Boston will announce later this afternoon that THE SINCLAIR, their 525-person Harvard Square live music venue and restaurant, will delay their opening more than two weeks to November 14 because of “unexpected construction delays.” That means the first official show at the newest rock club in Cambridge club will be with the Tennessee roots rock band Dirty Guv’Nahs and not the Meters with Page McConnell on Tuesday night.

For Cambridge’s 11-year-old All Asia Café, the afterlife will feel a bit like VALHALLA.

Back in December, MIT unveiled a five-story University Park expansion project that would swallow up All Asia Café and other businesses in the building strip and replace it with a $100 million research center. After that news broke, All Asia owner MARC SHULMAN vowed to re-open the restaurant and live music venue he owns and operates with his wife Patty Chen somewhere within Central Square.
