Lady Lee writes:

Boston boasts a strong reggae community and has a lot of seasoned artists with a variety of vocal styles.  Every Sunday, from 7-9pm, their music can be heard on The Lion's Den radio show at Vibe 105.3 FM.  Hosted by reggae artist and songwriter DJ Lady Lee of Mega Roots Energy Sound and by DJ Zion Fyre of Elemental Sound, this show features roots reggae sounds and the strongest, most powerful reggae music from around the world and also takes a focus to expose the underground talent of Boston reggae artists to make it accessible to the worldwide audience.

Boston's reggae talent includes Ajahni,
of Haitian Creole descent, who has been the lead singer for the band VibeWise for 10 years; Hydro Keke from Jamaica, who has a voice comparable to Sanchez, the great singer out of Jamaica; Jah Bless, who is a modern-day dancehall artist and a sing-jay (a singer who also chats in Jamaican Patois); and Lady Lee herself, who hails from Barbados and is one of the most famous female reggae artists out of Boston.  By hosting this show, Lady Lee feels a sense of achievement as she is giving back to the Boston reggae community who has supported her 10 years+ career, while holding the connections together in Boston and around the world. As a DJ, Lady Lee is able to expose the talent by producing successful shows in and around Boston area with live bands and with DJ sound systems over the artists' instrumental tracks.

On Saturday, all of the artists mentioned above will descend on Boston for the second time this year for the second "session," as it's called in Jamaica when artists friends get together for a jam session, in front of a live audience, with free CD giveaways.

Mega Roots Energy Sound presents "Keeping a Session, Want It Fe Ram, Part 2" at Island Pride Function Hall, 996 Blue Hill Ave, Dorchester on September 26, from 9 pm-1 am. For more information, contact Lady Lee at 617.334.3693 or
