MP3 of the Week: Streight Angular "Supermarche"
Every glorious, gluttonous Halloween, the streets of the city become one big network of sticky-sweet candy aisles. So when Albert Polk of STREIGHT ANGULAR howls out above the assembly-line rock ruckus of new single “Supermarche” (“Yeah you go/To the store /Cuz you feel /Like you want some more”), the man is really just inviting you to ZuZu in Cambridge October 31 for Polk Records and Night of the Living Deadhead’s tag-team Halloween throwdown. Earthquake Party and DJ Ionnokx join the aforementioned Stre-Ang crew in leading the spooky charge on one busy ’hood — the Mid East upstairs has Darling Pet Munkee at Unregular Radio’s Revenge of the Halloweenies, the downstairs swings DJ Pendulum, and there’s a not-so-hushed Hearthrob reunion party down Mass Ave at Middlesex. But for pure rock candy on sugar-perched lips, Streight Angular is the trick for the treaters and the treat for the tricksters (they're also at the Good Life's Zombie Prom on Saturday, for what it's worth). In any event, get syncopated and grab the “Supermarche” mp3 below.
