MP3: Yes Giantess remix Miley Cyrus, tour with La Roux, record with a bunch of hot British people
Every since our readers voted YES, GIANTESS as "Best New Band" in this summer's 2009 Boston Phoenix Best Music Poll, those dudes have been en fuego. Next Passion Pit? Pshaw. They've just jumped on as the openers for LA ROUX's upcoming, sold-out US tour -- which kicks off here next weekend at the Paradise -- and are dropping remixes at a furious pace. They just let loose a new take on the TEMPER TRAP's jawn, which you can grab below. (Sidebar: the Temper Trap will be playing a free show for us and WFNX on St. Patty's Day -- stay tuned for details on how to win tix.) And YG also snuck out a MILEY CYRUS remix -- of "Party In the USA" -- which they dropped (and we quote) "for no reason other than it is the most important song ever written." They're re not exactly publicizing that track outside of their Twitter feed. But it's fucking rad and we expect to hear it at every club we're at from now til March.

Meanwhile, the band is going the British route: working with awesome producers, dropping singles on the internet, and cumulatively compiling the kind of deeply-sourced album that someone, somewhere might actually pay for someday. If there's an electro-pop group in England that's done something cool in the past 12 months,YG are fucking with their producers: they've got the Neon Gold studio magic on speed dial. For those of you obsessing over UK electro songbird ELLIE GOULDING (perhaps you've heard her guesting on a "Sleepyhead" remix), you'll be happy to know that her producer STARSMITH is behind the new Yes Giantess single "THE RUINS," which drops next month, complete with a "1930s-sci-fi inspired" video invo lving "femme fatale robots, a kidnapping, and heavy fog." Which means maybe like they shot it outside, about an hour ago?
If you haven't got up to speed yet, fear not: Neon Gold still has the YES GIANTESS street mixtape queued up for you:
