It turns out DILLY DILLY definitely has been pushing some serious buttons in making her music lately (we're sorry for our ill-informed attempt at humor last week): While what she's doing might sound completely organic in the finish, it's actually the result of any number of samples and loops. Just more proof she defies categorization as a performer.
Speaking of button pushing, We Push Buttons Award winner MOLDY checked in earlier this week to say his track with DYNAMO P, "Pegasus," will soon be available digitally and on vinyl on his HEAVY PRESSURE RECORDINGS (distributed by Z AUDIO). If you've been hitting the big-city clubs lately, you may have heard it spun at DMZ in London or DUB WAR in NYC.
JODI EXPLODI are readying a full-length for release in January. Look for a show at Geno's with the MURDER WEAPON to celebrate.
Some of the HORROR veterans have put together a new project they're calling JOHNNY CREMAINS. Horror pianist/keyboardist ERIK WINTER and bass player SEAN LIBBY have teamed with drummer MIKE ANDERSON (Loverless) and guitarist DOUG PORTER (Confusatron, Covered in Bees), but they're still thinking about adding a bass player. Libby's handling vocals this time around. Look for gigs in the very near future.
MARK ERELLI releases a new disc, Delivered, this Saturday at the North Star Music Café. We don't know much about it, but he's been recording a bit lately with SARA COX, so he's clearly got good taste. We'll see what we can find out in the meantime.
