The third of our trio was enjoying his sushi ($3-$6.75), from oshinko pickles in rice, to unagi (eel), and especially his goodly amount of orange uni (sea urchin) served prettily in a half orange peel. "No false notes," he remarked with pleasure.
I also got a pad Thai ($9.50/$10.50), that hallmark, to go. A good version, with dense rice noodles. Interestingly, they also offer a crispy pad Thai ($12.50), with crispy egg noodles. Got to try that next time. And there will be a next time.
Despite all its competition, Lim's will likely do well, if my dining experience is typical. There can't be too much love in the world or, in a similar vein, too much Thai food.
