Being a Gemini kind of gal, I landed on one of the two combo plates ($12.99) for my entrée, with one hard taco, one regular burrito (not the specialty ones), and one enchilada, along with rice, beans, salsa, and sour cream, so I wouldn’t have to make tough decisions. Foiled! I still had to choose fillings for each of those three, from the eight meat and seven vegetarian options, plus eight toppings (four free, four 50 cents each) and eight sides ($2 each).
I got sautéed vegetables in my burrito, mushrooms and cheese in my enchilada, refried beans and cheese in my taco, and a side of guacamole. All were quite delicious, though the “refried” beans seemed like whole beans dumped into my taco, and I didn’t realize I could have had sparked it up with lettuce, tomato, scallions, or olives. Next time around.
For there will be a next time. We were way too full for dessert, but when we get back to El Parque, we can try the fried ice cream, Key lime pie, Mexican chocolate cake or, my favorite, custardy flan.
