MORE ABOUT AL BASILE
Al Basile was the first to get a master's degree from Brown University's Creative Writing program. He was the first trumpet player for Rhode Island's premiere jump blues band Roomful of Blues, and he has enjoyed a long collaboration with Duke Robillard, writing songs for and playing on many of his CDs. Al’s work has appeared on film, television, and two Grammy-nominated CDs, and he has six solo CDs out, his 2006 release Groovin’ in the Mood Room reaching #14 on the Living Blues airplay chart, and his new CD The Tinge having just come out in February of 2008. His poetry was first published in 2005.
